Southwell Folk Festival
May 23rd, 2008Rich is playing at the Southwell Folk Festival (6th - 8th June). He’s on on the Sunday. There’s lots of other stuff going on there too. I can heartily recommend Bill Caddick, on the Friday cos he’s just great.
I am comforted by your Crop-top that I carry into the twilight of sexybeams and hold next to my Eyes.

Hello. I (Rich the slighty shorter member of Lemon) will be playing at Belvoir Folk Festival on saturday the 19th. I’ll be in the old servants’ hall at about twenty past two in the afternoon. Not a clue what I’ll do yet.
Also playing at the Gate To Southwell Festival next month … lots of good people will be there.. Johnny Dickinson, John Tams and many more. Go see.

Oh, and Pleated Lemon are recording again. More to follow.
I know the chances of anyone who reads this living in Newark, Nottinghamshire are almost nil, but I should put a mention in for the recently reformed Newark Folk Club. Run by a lady called Anne, the group meets at the Mailcoach Inn at Beamont Cross in Newark every Wednesday night. I’ll be off there tonight, not quite fitting in to their musical sphere with my blues and rag, but they’re nice people and seem to tolerate it.
In the miniscule event of any reader living in Newark, contact Anne on 01636 612669 if you’d like to know more.
Nearly there aren’t we. Time to put up the Christmas single? Yes. A new one? No. The same one as last year? Yes. Any new remix of it, to act as a b-side, since we nicked Carl Cox and Friends for the EP? No. We didn’t get round to it. What have we got? - just the same old tosh as last year? YES. But 50% less of the same old tosh, so be thankful. It is free, after all.

A Merry Christmas, one and all.
Love,
Pleated Lemon, x
Finally, the Manor Boys album is on sale… Go and buy it or you really will be sorry. Add to cart.
Dytch (the one who can actually play the guitar n stuff) is playing a gig on Thursday at “Deux” on Clumber Ave in Carrington, Nottingham. It’s an open mic type thing and he’ll do some rag n blues I expect. He’ll probably try and persaude me to go on stage with him and make an arse of myself in some way, but I’m not going to. He’s really good, come see.
Smallfish are selling it too. I have a soft spot for them cos I used to buy lots of vinyl off them.. back when I had a credit card. Also, they gave it a good review. Bless ‘em. They gave my Spandex release (on Cristian Vogel’s Sleep Debt) a good review too… but I won’t link to it, cos their shop database is a bit confused and has the ID wrong and when you click on it you get a completely different record.
Update: They fixed the link but now it’s sold out. Which is I expect is a good thing.
At last, it’s here. You know you want it. Thingybob… Boomkat.. they made it single of the week and said “One of the strangest records of the year”. Strange schmange. It’s a fucking pop classic.
And Bleep they got it covered in the digital. Other people should be selling it as well… like Juno.
If you don’t buy it, you’ll never be hip, and the people who are hip will shun you like the worthless arse you really are.
Pleated Lemon’s Matt, in his ‘look-I-can-do-proper-music’ guise of the mighty Spandex, will be playing live in Zurich on Saturday to coincide with the release of his EP, Nameless Dread on Cristian Vogel’s Sleep Debt. Reeeeeed all about it at: http://www.no-future.com/erutufon/showthread.php?p=365370
This, my friend, is viral marketing. Top google searches used to find this site..

Ad agencies can only dream of this kind of word-of-mouth success. They don’t understand that you can’t fake this shit… you gotta be FOR REAL.
